Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House opening a new garden; new seed library at Sunbury Library
Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House has new garden beds thanks to a generous grant from Council. The official opening of the new garden will be from 4-6 pm on Thursday August 1. There is a group of local food gardeners keen to save and swap seed. RCSS will meet with the group soon after the opening to discuss seed saving and we will talk about ways in which we could work together.
Hume Seed Library has recently been formed, aiming to have a seed "library" at Sunbury Library where seed savers can exchange seeds. https://www.facebook.com/humeseedlibrary/
Having a number of seed saving groups in the area means greater biodiversity in the foods we grow locally and therefore greater adaptability to changing climatic conditions.
