Be part of Sustainable House Day action from late August

Sustainable House Day depends on the work of a sizeable number of volunteers, from homeowners to the people who brave the cold to “man” the farmers’ market stand in August and September. The more helpers, the more fun we all have!

We’re looking for volunteers to help publicise the event so the local “open homes” get lots of visitors, and can share local experience in making homes more comfortable, more affordable and more sustainable. We need:

  1. Volunteers to place posters in:

  • Gisborne

  • Woodend

  • Kyneton

  • Riddells Creek

  • Romsey

  • Lancefield

  • Malmsbury

  • Monegeetta

  • Macedon, Mt Macedon

  • Bullengarook

… any place where people might appreciate the opportunity to visit and learn from locals with an interest in sustainable housing. Cafes, hardware stores, health food stores, greengrocers, community notice boards, …

Could you spare a few hours to blitz your local area, around the end of August?

2. A social media “whiz” to help us get the word out ahead of the event and maybe a post or two to hook potential visitors who are at a loose end on the day.

3. A volunteer to write and distribute a short media release in mid-August and a more detailed article for early September publication.

PS We’re also looking for volunteers to help out in the open homes on the day. We have tasks for various levels of knowledge and experience, so if you can help for a couple of hours on Sunday 15th September please let us know.
