ALDI Australia powered by 100% renewable electricity

ALDI has shown that it is possible with solar panels on their roofs and purchase agreements from two wind farms. And that, despite being the 67th biggest user of electricity in Australia, with 555 stores and eight distribution centres nationwide. For more details see this article in Renew Economy here or the company announcement.

What about Coles and Woolworths? Both chains have recently pledged to get to 100% renewable electricity by 2025 (see AFR article). Unfortunately back when we approached Coles about their new Woodend store they were not interested in solar panels.

Better late than never I guess.
