Introduction to Beekeeping Course
Learn the basics of beekeeping from the Woodend Bee Friendly Society leadership team in this intensive 1-day workshop.
We’ll cover the basics in getting started with bees, equipment that you’ll need (and what you don’t), the life cycle of your colony, pests and diseases and the Biosecurity Code of Practice. Our course has been updated with an enhanced section on varroa management.

(Followed by regular WBFS Meeting 3:00pm - 4:30pm)

Our instructors include experienced recreational beekeepers, beekeepers from multi-generational beekeeper families as well as a graduate of the Cert III Beekeeping Program from Melbourne Polytechnic. Our instructors have completed the Varroa Management workshop offered by the Varroa Transition to Management (T2M) program.
