🚛 Become a Wash Trailer Pilot with MRSG
Help us keep events in the Macedon Ranges cleaner and reduce single-use waste!
Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group (MRSG) is looking for additional Wash Trailer Pilots to help operate our Wash Against Waste trailer at community events across the Macedon Ranges.
As a Wash Trailer Pilot, you'll play an important role in keeping the Wash Against Waste service running smoothly.
You won't be doing it alone. You'll join a small, friendly team of Wash Trailer Pilots who support each other, share ideas and have a lot of fun along the way. Together, we develop and improve the trailer. It's a great way to meet like-minded people, get hands-on and be part of the MRSG community.
What does a Wash Trailer Pilot do?
Your role is to:
🚛 Tow the Wash Against Waste trailer to events using your own suitable towing vehicle, with a minimum 2-tonne towing capacity.
🔧 Set up the trailer and get the water, power and washing system ready to go.
🧑🤝🧑 Train a few volunteers who will wash, collect and return dishes and cutlery during the event.
🛠️ Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support by phone during the day.
🚛 Pack up and tow the trailer back to Woodend at the end of the event.
You don't need to be an expert in everything. We'll provide training on the trailer and how to operate it. However, a practical approach to problem-solving, along with some working knowledge of batteries, water systems and basic equipment, would be highly regarded.
What you'll need
Your own suitable towing vehicle with a minimum 2-tonne towing capacity.
A willingness to tow, set up and pack up the trailer.
A practical, can-do approach to solving problems.
Confidence working with and supporting other volunteers.
An interest in reducing waste and helping our community put sustainability into action.
Wash Trailer Pilots are compensated per trip to cover fuel.
If you enjoy being hands-on, helping people and making things work, this could be a great way to get involved with MRSG.
Interested?
We'd love to hear from you.
Become a Wash Trailer Pilot and help us make reusable the easy choice at community events.
