Results from Hepburn Energy's Bulk Buys 2023
The following is a letter from Hepburn Energy regarding the results of two bulk-buys that MRSG supported:
We want to thank MRSG so very much for your support with our bulk buys in 2023. In particular, we want to thank you for your wonderful EV Expo event that launched our EV bulk buy. Despite the cold weather, it was such a positive and inspiring day.
The results are in and the collaboration across Central Victoria has meant a huge amount of community value was delivered.
The top-level stats are:
$876,479 of community value delivered across our bulk-buys
78 heat pump hot water systems saving 407 tonnes of Co2
8 EVs saving 22 tonnes of Co2 per annum
Electric vehicles
The partnership with the Good Car Co. in 2023 led to a successful second round of the electric vehicle bulk-buy that extended throughout Central Victoria. This bulk-buy aimed to raise awareness of electric vehicles (EVs), share knowledge about owning and driving an EV, and was designed to grow Central Victoria’s electric vehicle community.
There were more than 300 online expressions of interest during the bulk buy and each of these participants received the Good Car Co. information package and the opportunity to test drive the cars.
During the EV bulk-buy 8 Nissan Leafs were sold with a total value of $348,220. This will save at least 22 tonnes of CO2 emissions off the road per annum and provide $2,400 towards public charging infrastructure to the Hepburn Energy Impact Fund.
Heat pump hot water systems
The 2023 heat pump hot water bulk-buy had amazing results! This was the second successful partnership with t2zero to deliver a bulk-buy and this year we extended beyond Hepburn Shire to include the neighbouring districts. The offer provided information webinars, support and products to help residents improve their energy efficiency and lower emissions.
There were 141 expressions of interest in the program, 133 quotes sent and over 100 attendees to the information webinars.
The program has seen a total of 78 heat pump hot water systems supplied and installed through Central Victoria, with a value of $528,159. This translates to a huge reduction of 407 tonnes of CO2 emissions and two free systems for local community groups!
