New MRSG governance committee elected for 2022-3

The Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group has a new President, Lenka Thompson. Elected unanimously at the Committee Meeting last Tuesday 18th October, Lenka will lead a team of 8 Committee members with Ralf Thesing continuing as Treasurer, James Mackenzie as Secretary, David Gormley-O’Brien as Vice-President, Geoff Murray as Circular Economy Advisor, Jenny Holliday as Action Group Liaison and two new members - Johanna Bidwell and Debbie Rovere.
Outgoing President, David Gormley-O’Brien, is very excited about Lenka assuming the leadership role with her experience in social and human sustainability issues and her postgraduate research in affordable housing. Lenka is enthusiastic to maintain and enhance MRSG's recent relationship the Dja Dja Wurrung and their renewable energy strategy, and stated that a focus for the committee's work next year would be to strengthen MRSG's commitment to its local Action Groups through strategy development serving its large and diverse membership now and into the future.
