New Gisborne Primary School reduces carbon footprint and saves $20K per year thanks to partnership with MRSG

Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas visited New Gisborne Primary School to discuss their capital project and test their new solar panels, allocated to the school as part of an $83,000 grant.

The 200 panels will produce around 75kw, meaning the majority of power at New Gisborne will be renewable, saving the school around $20,000 in electricity bills annually. These savings can be invested in better school facilities and programs.

Mary-Anne Thomas said, “The Andrews Labor Government is proud to support this project, and the partnership between the New Gisborne Primary School and the Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group that made it possible“.

A big thank you to Al Reid, Bruce Mildenhall, and others from MRSG’s Renewable Energy action group that helped make this possible.
