Meet the MRSG Committee for 2026–27!
New faces, fresh ideas, and a shared commitment to sustainability across the Macedon Ranges.
Following our recent Annual General Meeting, the Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group (MRSG) is pleased to welcome its nine-member committee for the year ahead.
Honouring Our Outgoing Members
Before introducing our new team, we sincerely thank the three committee members who have stepped down. They brought significant capability, calm, and structure to the committee, dedicating their time, knowledge, and deep commitment to MRSG. Their contributions have strengthened our organisation and provided a solid foundation for the future.
As we welcome four new committee members, we recognise that we are building on the shoulders of those who came before us. MRSG's strength comes from the many people who have contributed their energy, experience, and passion over the years. We are grateful for everything achieved so far and look forward to carrying that work forward.
Introducing Your 2026–27 Committee

Volunteer Spotlight: Communications Officer Vacancy
The Communications Officer position remains vacant, and we'd love to hear from anyone interested in helping MRSG share its stories, promote events, and connect with the wider community. You do not need to join the main committee to take on this role — if you have skills or interest in media, newsletters, or social media, we would love to hear from you!
Stronger Connections with Our Action Groups
Our Action Groups are at the heart of MRSG’s community work. To strengthen connections between the committee and our volunteers, we have appointed committee liaisons to support each group:
REAG: Ralf
Kyneton Transition Hub and Backyard Growers: Lisa
Sustainable Malmsbury: Gavin
Sustainable Homes: Anna
Transport: Magnus
Veg Action: Lauren
Wash Against Waste and Woodend Community Bags: Lisa
Regenerative Farmers and GROW Festival: Liam
Woodend Bee Friendly Society: Anna
Produce Exchange: Alice
Woodend Community Farmers Market: Magnus
Riddells Creek Cool Changes: Robert
We are also restarting regular Action Group leader meetings, with Alice and Anna coordinating two meetings or workshops each year.
These sessions will focus on building capacity, sharing ideas, strengthening relationships, and creating a supportive culture across our Action Groups. We want all our volunteers to feel connected, supported, and fully equipped to make things happen in their local communities.
Getting Straight to Work
The new committee is already hitting the ground running. Lisa and Alice will collaborate on reviewing MRSG’s grievance policy and procedures to ensure we have clear, supportive processes for all volunteers and members.
Other immediate priorities include strengthening our governance and financial processes, streamlining committee communications, and supporting Action Group initiatives, including continuing the small projects grant.
