Wash Against Waste powered by the sun at the Malmsbury Farmers Market

We often use the Vehicle to Load capabilities of an Electric Vehicle (EV) to power the Wash Against Waste Trailer at the Malmsbury Farmers Market. The EV is charged from household solar, meaning the commercial dishwasher in the trailer is powered by the sun!

Vehicle to Load (VTL) is a feature on many electric vehicles that allows them to use their stored energy to power external devices, such as electrical camping equipment, power tools and household appliances. This feature is particularly useful in regional areas like ours where we have regular power outages, allowing people to power their fridge, water pump, medical equipment (e.g home dialysis and CPAP machines) and other important appliances for several days from their car battery. No need for a back-up generator anymore!

Update: We only used 12% of the battery for over five hours of intense dishwashing!
