NEW SOLAR PANELS FOR NEW GISBORNE PRIMARY SCHOOL

New Gisborne Primary School will soon have important new works undertaken, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, today announced the upgrade, with $83,000 allocated to fund the Solar PV project at the school, allowing Gisborne Primary School to reap the benefits of renewable solar energy.

These panels will produce around 75kw, meaning the vast majority of power at New Gisborne will be renewable, saving the school around $20,000 in electricity bills annually. These savings can be invested in better school facilities and programs.

The Labor Government is working to strengthen community pride in schools and build the Education State so that every Victorian student gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.

The project is part of a $3.8 billion investment by the Government to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools.

The school building boom has delivered more than 1,300 school upgrades and 70 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
