Nominate a local grower and go in the draw to win!

We believe everyone should have access to fresh, seasonal food that is grown by local producers.

Veg Action and Cobaw Health, with the help of Tara Murphy, a student on placement from Deakin University, are developing a directory to connect consumers with their local fruit, veg, nut and legume growers.

Creating better links between growers and locals will mean that more families will be able to enjoy better health. The 2020 Active Living Census showed us that only 14% of Macedon Ranges residents are eating sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet. Making plant-based produce more accessible will also have important benefits for the environment - read more about that here.

Veg Action has already documented the fruit and veggie boxes providers in the region, but this project goes one step further to identify a broader range of producers not yet included in these deliveries - including those growing nuts, legumes and vegetables and fruit.
