Waste Action at the Sustainable Living Festival

This month the Waste Action team have been working hard preparing for the Macedon Ranges Sustainable Living Festival. Saturday 2 March 2019, 9am – 3pm, CNR Forest St and High St, Woodend.

Come along to say hello and learn about ways to manage your waste. We will have our usual Terracycle collection bins at the Festival. New this month, we are now collecting soft plastic mailing satchels.

We’re doing lots to reduce waste across the Shire. This month, we’ve been inspired by some amazing young people doing big things to reduce waste in the Macedon Ranges. Starting with the Senior Unit kids at Macedon Primary School. They’ve been getting their hands dirty and taking big steps to reduce their waste - Well done kids! And 2nd Woodend Scouts are working hard on achieving their Pioneer Environment badge by learning about the importance of proper recycling, helping out at the Sustainable Living Festival, and doing a Clean Up as part of Clean Up Australia Day. More is planned for 2019, so come and talk to us about what’s going on with waste.

Hope to see you there!
