The Waste Action Group is now holding regular meet-ups on the 3rd Sunday of the month at Holgate’s Brewhouse, Woodend. 4.45pm - 5.45pm
Once a month, we talk rubbish and pick over the enormous problem of waste. We are an active group, planning and carrying out projects that help everyone reduce, reuse, repair, repurpose, rot and recycle their rubbish.
Currently, we are running a recycling stall at the Woodend and Macedon Village Farmers’ Markets, initiating a Wash Against Waste trailer for events, working towards a Plastic Free Woodend, helping schools tackle their waste, giving public talks, holding clean-ups around Woodend, running zero-waste workshops, and campaigning for a Victorian Container Deposit Scheme.
There’s so much more that we could do.
If you are keen to get stuck into the stockpiles and join the War on Waste, come along and join the conversation.
Living is learning, and we are a non-judgemental bunch, so don’t feel you have to be a zero-waste saint to join us. After all, we don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.
Please note: Get Waste-Ed is a pun, not an instruction. See you at the pub!
