A study, recently undertaken by the Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group (MRSG), has identified that the North Woodend, Newham and Lancefield areas are the most impacted by unplanned power outages in the Macedon Ranges region.

MRSG is hoping to partner with Powercor and gain community support for the installation of the neighbourhood battery along the WND013 feeder line, or to explore other ways, to increase reliability of electricity supply to Lancefield customers.

If it is deemed that a neighbourhood battery would be the best way to increase network reliability then MRSG would be seeking government funding support.
