Get inspired to go green!

If you're planning to build or renovate, or have an interest in sustainable building design, you're invited to the free sustainable building information sessions run by the Macedon Ranges Shire Council.

The workshop will introduce participants to the basics of passive design strategies, which incorporate natural sources such as sunlight to heat and ventilation to cool a building, instead of relying on costly alternatives that require gas or electricity.

You will learn more about sustainable design principles, including:

• orientation of home
• location and size of windows and their influence on temperature
• shading
• how to harness a home's thermal mass
• insulation

The information sessions will be hosted by qualified sustainable building designer and Council staff member, Felicity Houghton.
