Are you a Waste Worrier…
Or a Waste Warrior?
Whether you have been inspired by the ABC’s War on Waste, or you have useful knowledge about waste streams and resource recovery, or if you are passionate about reducing the vast and unsustainable amount of waste heading to landfill, the MRSG Waste Action Group wants to hear from you!
What we are doing:
The Waste Action Group is currently working to remove organic and recyclable waste from landfill, reduce methane emissions and plastic pollution, and to recover valuable and re-useable resources.
Starting this Saturday (3rd November), you will be able to bring your dead household batteries to the Woodend Farmer’s Market to be recycled through a local resource recovery business.
In 2019 we will be linking up with Terracycle to help recycle more difficult items such as toothpaste tubes & toothbrushes, disposable contact lens blister packs, cosmetics containers and pens via collection points in the Ranges.
We need to do so much more, but we need your help!

Planning Session:
Join the MRSG Waste Action Group as we prepare for action in 2019.
To kick the session off, we will create a Waste Manifesto for the MRSG.
Why a Manifesto?
We want to get real about waste reduction.
We aim to be clear in our intentions.
We want actions with results and to demonstrate our commitment.
We need your input, because this problem affects everyone.
Following the Manifesto, we will begin planning our actions for 2019 and beyond.
