Sustainable House Day is Coming!

Sustainable House Day is a big day for MRSG, especially for the Sustainable Homes Action Group. It’s a day when we share ideas and experience about how to make our homes more comfortable, more energy efficient and cheaper to run - and of course, better for the planet! Three local households have already “stepped up” and offered to open on Sunday September 15th, and we are hoping to see a couple more register soon.

Would you like to get involved? We’d love to hear from:

  • Householders planning to open but not yet registered

  • Householders thinking about opening but not sure … wanting to talk it over with someone or needing a bit of encouragement and support to make it happen (we can help!)

  • Householders willing to share one or two improvements via a poster display in a central location - a great way to get involved without needing to welcome visitors at yours!

  • People wanting to volunteer in the lead up to SHD We need help to get media coverage, put up posters, distribute postcards, post on social media, organise volunteer rosters, coordinate a “virtual house” poster display, promote SHD at the Farmers’ Market stall, …

  • People wanting to help out on the day We need people to welcome visitors and “sign them in” at each property. Some of our homeowners are also keen to have volunteers work alongside them on the day talking to visitors about the features and improvements in their homes (we’ll organise a preview of the home(s) before the event to get you up to speed)

If you’re keen to get involved, please get in touch by email (mrsg.susthomes@gmail.com) or call Sue on 5427 0805.

The more hands we have, the more fun we have!
